Day 1: Arrival in Lima
Transfer from Lima Airport to Hotel. Arrival at Lima Airport, where you will be warmly welcomed by a German-speaking tour guide and taken to your hotel. The Peruvian capital Lima was founded in 1535 by the Spanish conqueror Francisco Pizarro. Here you encounter the decaying colonial splendor as well as the lively vitality of an oriental bazaar. There are melancholic gray winters and pleasantly warm summers, and alongside extensive slums, one finds dignified buildings in quiet, elegant corners where the evening scent of jasmine lingers in the air. Day 2: City tour in Lima
Included meals: Breakfast. City tour including San Francisco Monastery (4h). Today a city tour of Lima is on the agenda. You will first visit the colonial old town with the Plaza de Armas, where the Government Palace, Town Hall, Archbishop's Palace, and Cathedral are located, to name just the most magnificent buildings in this historic square. Afterward, you will continue to visit the San Francisco Monastery with the largest collection of religious art objects in America. A highlight of this visit is the catacombs. Next, you will visit the Plaza San Martín, which has been lovingly renovated after earthquakes time and again. The tour then leads through the modern residential neighborhoods of San Isidro and Miraflores to the Pacific coast. You will enjoy the wonderful view of the sea. Day 3: Off to Cusco!
Included meals: Breakfast. Transfer from Hotel to Lima Airport. Flight Lima to Cusco (not included). Transfer from Cusco Airport to Hotel. City tour including ruins (4h). Today you will explore Cusco during a city tour that takes you to the most significant sights of the Inca Empire and the colonial period. On the tour, you will visit Koricancha, the Temple of the Sun. The Catholic Monastery of Santo Domingo was built on the same site, using some Inca walls of the temple for the monastery. Next, you will head to the Cathedral, which was built on the ruins of the palace of Inca Wiracocha and is known for its collection of colonial artworks from the Cusqueña school. You will stroll through the Incastraße Loreto, where many old buildings and remarkably well-preserved Inca walls stand. Afterward, you will leave the center to explore the surroundings of Cusco, where important ruins of the Inca Empire can be found. This includes the archaeological site of the fortress ruins Sacsayhuaman, whose massive zigzag walls made of giant stones have withstood the centuries almost unscathed. Day 4: Free Day in Cusco

Day 5: Off to Machu Picchu
Included meals: Breakfast. Full-day visit to the ruins of Machu Picchu. After breakfast, the full-day excursion to visit the ruins of Machu Picchu begins. First, by bus to the train station in Ollantaytambo, where the train departs for Machu Picchu. The scenic ride on the Vistadome train takes you through the fertile plain of the Urubamba Valley to Aguas Calientes. The landscape changes continuously. Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, the train station at the foot of Machu Picchu, you will take shuttle buses up the winding road to the ruins. A guided tour of the world-famous ruins follows, lasting about 2 hours. Return by shuttle bus to Aguas Calientes, from where you will take the train back to Ollantaytambo. Day 6: Bus ride to Puno
Included meals: Breakfast, lunch. Bus ride from Cusco to Puno – on a group basis. Today, a full-day bus ride from Cusco to Puno is scheduled. During the journey through the Peruvian highlands, you will pass along snow-capped peaks, up over 4,300 m and back down to Puno, which is situated directly on the shores of Lake Titicaca. Along the way, you will visit the town of Andahuaylillas, the ruins of Racchi, and the small town of Pucara. Lunch is included. Note: The bus ride takes place in a group with international travelers, with either a German or English-speaking guide. Day 7: Lake Titicaca
Included meals: Breakfast, lunch. Bus transfer Puno to Copacabana. Catamaran ride to the Sun Island and continuing to Cocotoni, including lunch – on a group basis with a private German-speaking tour guide. Bus transfer from Cocotoni to La Paz – on a group basis with a private German-speaking tour guide. Optional: Boat excursion for sunrise visiting the Uros Indians on their floating islands (starts at 04:00 am). The journey takes you across the border into Bolivia and on to Copacabana, one of the major pilgrimage sites in Latin America. You will then take a catamaran ride across Lake Titicaca to the Sun Island. On the island, you will visit a local museum. Lunch will be served on board the catamaran. The journey continues from the Sun Island across the lake to Cocotoni, from where the bus transfer to La Paz, the highest capital in the world, takes place. The catamaran ride and transfer from Cocotoni to La Paz occur in a group with a private German-speaking guide and other passengers. Day 8: Journey to La Paz
Included meals: Breakfast. City tour in La Paz (4h). After breakfast, the program starts with a city tour of La Paz, which was founded in 1548 and whose center lies at about 3600 meters above sea level. The city still has many well-preserved colonial buildings, and in the narrow streets of the old town, the colorful Indian market still takes place today. A short excursion takes you through the elegant suburbs of La Paz to the Valley of the Moon, Valle de la Luna, in the La Paz River valley. Over millions of years, wind and rain have carved a bizarre lunar landscape from reddish and gray rock that resembles a geological nightmare. Day 9: La Paz - Buenos Aires
Included meals: Breakfast. Transfer from Hotel to La Paz Airport. Flight La Paz to Buenos Aires (with connecting flight) (not included). Transfer from Buenos Aires Airport to Hotel. In the morning, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Buenos Aires. After arrival, transfer to the hotel. Buenos Aires is not only the capital of Argentina but also one of the ten most important metropolises in the world. Moreover, Buenos Aires is the chicest and most dynamic city in South America, impressing with an excellent culinary offering and exquisite fashion taste. Despite its energy and modern structure, Buenos Aires has managed to preserve charming traditions and enchanting corners. The atmosphere and the unique character traits of the various 'Barrios' (neighborhoods), the warmth of the residents, and the diverse cultural and commercial offerings captivate every visitor. Day 10: Buenos Aires
Included meals: Breakfast. Half-day city tour (4h). During the city tour, you will visit the main square Plaza de Mayo, where the Government Palace, the Casa Rosada (the pink house), as well as the Cabildo (town hall) and the Metropolitan Cathedral are located, which will be visited from the inside. Afterward, you will head to San Telmo, which was a river port until 1888. The old small houses and the cobblestone streets give this district its special flair. A beautiful flea market takes place here every Sunday. Next, you will go to the port district La Boca, which is a famous tourist attraction because of its brightly painted metal houses. Visit the legendary street El Caminito. Then, you will explore the fashionable district Recoleta, and the Avenida 9 de Julio is considered the widest boulevard in the world at 140 meters. Day 11: Buenos Aires - Iguassu
Included meals: Breakfast. Transfer from Hotel to Buenos Aires Airport. Flight Buenos Aires to Iguazú (not included). Visit to the Argentine side of the falls. Transfer to the hotel. After breakfast, transfer to the national airport and flight to Iguazú, followed by a visit to the Argentine side of the falls. Iguazú – the indisputable largest natural wonder of South Brazil, is a gigantic series of waterfalls that plunge into a gorge on the borders of Paraguay and Argentina over 275 waterfalls that roar over a roughly 3 km wide precipice, creating a perpetual mist adorned with a rainbow. Due to their size and untouched location in the tropical rainforest at the tri-border area, the falls are among the most impressive natural sights in South America. While you can mainly enjoy the panorama of the falls from the Brazilian side, on the Argentine side, you have the opportunity to walk very close between the individual waterfalls along the lower and upper walking trails. The Jungle Train takes you to the Devil's Throat Station, from where a short walk leads to the spectacular viewpoint of the Devil's Throat. Day 12: Iguazu
Included services: Breakfast. In the morning you will visit the Brazilian side of the waterfalls. There you will find an impressive panoramic view: From a viewpoint near the Devil's Throat, you can enjoy the waterfalls up close. A narrow walkway leads to the lower level of the falls, where you are surrounded by roaring water, fine mist, splashing spray, and the lush green jungle backdrop. Uprooted trees and a semicircular rainbow complete this unforgettable nature experience. The rest of the day is at your disposal. Day 13: Iguassu - Rio De Janeiro
Included meals: Breakfast. Transfer from Hotel to Iguazú Airport. Flight Iguazú to Rio de Janeiro (not included). Transfer from Rio de Janeiro Airport to Hotel. Transfer to the airport and flight to Rio de Janeiro, followed by a transfer from the airport to the hotel. Rio de Janeiro offers a breathtaking backdrop with its lush vegetation, deep blue sea, and sparkling white beaches. It is a city between majestic mountains and the vast sea, inhabited by warm-hearted Cariocas, who offer a multitude of cultural and entertainment options as well as numerous shopping experiences. Rios streets and sidewalks accommodate around eight million people daily and a million vehicles, including cars, trucks, buses, motorcycles, and scooters, all competing for a space where only a third is available at most. However, this spectacular chaos does not diminish a Carioca's enthusiasm. For a Carioca, everything is relative, except for one thing – the wonder and beauty of Rio de Janeiro. Day 14: Rio de Janeiro
Included meals: Breakfast. Full day excursion: City tour, Sugarloaf & Corcovado (8h). You will leave the hotel and head to the Cosme Velho Station, from where you will take the cogwheel train through the Tijuca Forest to the 728 m high Corcovado. The journey takes about 20 minutes and offers breathtaking views of the lush tropical vegetation, beaches, and the city. Upon arrival, you will leave the train and after a few steps reach the famous Christ statue. After enjoying this breathtaking view, you will return by train to the base. The journey continues along Rio's famous beaches to the Urca neighborhood. There you will take a cable car over two stations to the 390m high Sugarloaf. After descending, you will drive along Guanabara Bay and Flamengo Park towards the city center. You will see more attractions, such as the Candelaria Church, the Cathedral of Saint Sebastian, the Lapa Arches, the Municipal Theater, the National Library, and the Museum of Art. The tour concludes at the Sambadrome, where Rio’s world-famous carnival is celebrated every year. Note: In exceptional cases, if the train does not operate, the round trip will be made instead by city-approved vans from/to the Largo do Machado parking lot.
